Kitwave CFO leads the way on 100-mile Coastal Hike in support of the British Heart Foundation

Kitwave Group plc, the independent, delivered wholesale business, is proud to announce that David Brind, Chief Financial Officer, and his friend Stuart Jackson are undertaking a 100-mile hike from Berwick to Newcastle, starting on Wednesday, 20 October 2021, in support of the Heart of the Tyne campaign on behalf of the British Heart Foundation (“BHF”).

Across the country, every 5 minutes someone is admitted to hospital due to a heart attack. Indeed, 25% of deaths in the UK are related to heart and circulatory diseases. This represents one in four of your workmates, your friends, your family.

David, who suffered a cardiac arrest in 2017, has helped found the Heart of the Tyne campaign to improve awareness of heart health across the business community and to raise money for The British Heart Foundation. Such fundraising supports vital research into developing treatments, discovering new cures and saving lives. The BHF’s work has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK.

The Heart of The Tyne initiative seeks to involve local businesses and organisations for a year of fundraising for the BHF. Muckle LLP and TMP Wealth Management are also supporting the campaign. For information how to sign up to the initiative, please contact BHF’s fund-raising manager Carolyn Reynolds, by emailing reynoldsc@bhf.org.uk.
